What are education provider types?
Australia categorizes education under three different types: English-language courses (ELICOS), Vocational Education and Training (VET) and higher education. The main difference between VET and higher education is that VET is geared more towards learning fundamentals skills whereas higher education goes further in-depth. The highest qualification attainable through VET is an associate degree or diploma while higher education ranges from diploma through to doctoral degrees as seen here. All education providers in Australia that cater to international students are registered Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
